Ms. Tanner received her Juris Doctorate with honors in 1994 from the University of Louisville, graduating in the top 5% of her class. She is a registered nurse and graduated from the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston in 1986 with high honors. Ms. Tanner worked as a pediatric intensive care nurse at Texas Children’s Hospital and later at Kosair Children’s Hospital, for six years before completing law school. At Kosair Children’s Hospital, Ms. Tanner worked in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, the Transitional Care Unit, the Burn Unit, the Emergency Department, and various medical and surgical floors. She practices exclusively in the health care litigation field and has participated in a number of trials involving hospital defendants in Jefferson County as well as various counties throughout Kentucky.
